From the blog Medusa Coils over yonder on Blogger:

"A special blog, Women at the Parliament has been set up to report on "Honoring the Sacred Feminine at the Parliament of World's Religions." The Parliament is taking place now in Melbourne, Australia. It meets every 5 years in a different country and attempts to be inclusive of all world religions. Nevertheless, it took a lot of effort to have the "Sacred Feminine" and Goddess included. Our thanks goes out to the Women's Spirit Council for their perseverance in making sure this was done."

On Friday I participated in a BDSM party specifically organized to tap into Energy and use it during our interactions. It was a very interesting experience since most of my energy work has been within Pentecostal/charismatic circles. I am still trying to work through everything I experienced during the evening. One of the most interesting things, for me, was the buzzing I experienced until I was flogged. It's like the energy was trapped inside me until released through the flogging. I had an overwhelming need to be sexual so I was very happy that my partner visited the next night so I could release that energy in a way that is healthy for me.

There's still some remainders of the energy with me so I didn't do a good enough job of letting go of it at the closure of the party. I'll get better with that in time.

All in all, it was exciting, interesting, and very intriguing. I'm looking forward to the next party.

QoS asked for stories about healing from goddesses. I'm not sure if this is exactly what she was getting at but it is as close as I can come within my own life.

It could easily be argued that the Goddesses are healing me, physically, emotionally, and spiritually through that message.

I have been lurking, getting a taste for what this group is like. It looks like something I will definitely enjoy.

My intro.  I see the sacred in most of the things I do since I believe that the most essential part of who I am, my energy force, is connected to the Divine. I happen to identify the Divine in my life as Christian, but that doesn’t change the dynamic in my mind. Obviously I’m not your typical conservative, fundamentalist, evangelical, though all of those labels fit me in one way or another.

I have chosen to be celibate for the past few years. I realized during my divorce frenzy (I’m finally free! Look out guys here I come!) stage that the men I was connecting with on a physical level were looking for a hole and that was it. While I have talked about wanting a self-directed dildo I really wasn’t looking for physical gratification as much as I was looking for someone who was interested in connecting on an energy-essential being level. I’m no longer willing to indulge my sexual side with another without that connection. This does not mean that I do not appreciate and enjoy myself sexually, I just do not include another person when I do.

I have found people who are willing to connect with me on that essential-energy level, but we do not do it in a sexually explicit manner. I have found that participating in non-sexual D/s gives me that energy exchange that I need. While it would be lovely to find someone I could be in a physically intimate, sexual relationship with I am content in being who I am, protecting my energy signature, and connecting with only those who will exchange that energy with me.  Because it is the essence of who I am, to me it is very sacred. In exchanging my energy with another I am also exchanging my spiritual life with them in a way that transcends definitions. The sacred and the essence of who I am are so entwined, though separate, I don’t know how I could do anything else.

hollyhearth's mention of her relationship with Oshun has set me to wondering about how different forms of deity have figured in our sexual lives in a positive way.

Who has inspired you? Healed you? Brought you clarity? Heightened your passions? Brought you to ecstasy?

Casting back over my own experiences, I had a powerful experience of sexual/relationship healing working with The Descent of Inanna. I've gained clarity about myself reflecting on the Greek goddesses as archetypes by reading and journaling about Jean Shinoda Bolen's wonderful book Goddesses in Everywoman. The Goddess of Sovereignty (who goes by many names) has been a longtime companion, influencing my romantic and sexual life even before I knew of Her existence. And most recently, Freyja has been a participant in my sex life, invoked by one of my lovers.

I encourage everyone to share in original posts, not just leave comments here. Start your own threads about working with different gods/goddesses/spirits/archetypes so we can ask questions and share ideas.
